A trademark legally protects your brand name, logo, or tagline so no one else in your industry can use it. Once filed, you can use the ™ symbol; after registration, the ® symbol.

Documents required
- Applicant's PAN, Aadhaar / ID proof
- Udyam Registration Certificate or DPIIT Startup Certificate (for concessional fee)
- Logo / wordmark to be registered, in soft copy
- Class(es) of goods / services and description of use
- Proof of first use (invoices / website / marketing material), if claiming prior use
- Power of Attorney (Form TM-48) in favour of the filing agent

How long does trademark registration take?
You can use ™ immediately after filing (1–3 days). Full registration takes 8–18 months depending on objections/oppositions, but your priority date is locked from day one.
