What is LLP Registration?

A Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) combines the operational flexibility of a partnership with the limited liability protection of a company. It is registered under the LLP Act, 2008 and is a separate legal entity from its partners.

LLPs are popular with professional firms, consultants, and service businesses that want legal protection without the heavier compliance of a Private Limited Company.

Why is it required?

  • Partners' personal assets are protected from business liabilities.
  • Lower annual compliance burden and cost compared to a Private Limited Company.
  • No limit on the maximum number of partners.
  • The LLP Agreement lets you flexibly define profit sharing and roles.

Documents required

  • PAN and Aadhaar of all partners / designated partners
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Identity & address proof of partners
  • Registered office proof (EB bill + rent agreement / NOC)
  • DSC application documents for designated partners
  • LLP Agreement (drafted after incorporation)
